Click fraud becomes a legitimized business?

So, thanks to a Wall Street Journal article today titled “For These Sites, Their Best Asset Is a Good Name” by Julia Angwin click fraud is a legitimized business. How long will this last? It could be wiped out in two to three weeks with some algorithm updates to weed these bogus sites out of the index, but with Google and Yahoo getting paid (by-the-click) to keep these sites in, I suppose they could be here for a while.

404 Header Fix for WordPress Google SiteMaps

If you use WordPress with a Google SiteMap Plugin and you tried to verify the ownership of your blog with Google, you’ve probably seen the error, “We’ve detected that your 404 (file not found) error page returns a status of 200 (OK) in the header.”

I got a sales call from E-Results Inc.

They found me through pay-per-click ads for my DupliQuote.com site and although I have no intention of paying them $2000 to write 20 doorway pages for my site and get me banned from Google, I let them give me the full pitch.

Report Spam Search Results to Google

I hate spam search results. There’s always some nitwit trying to deceive (spam) Google with hidden text, cloaking or doorway pages and it gives Search Engine Optimization a bad name. If websites had better content that was organized in a logical manner, search engines would be 100 times more useful.
